Join us as we travel across Pennsylvania and the New England states to Cape Cod, touring Hyannis, Plymouth, Provincetown, and much more. This year we venture into an exciting territory of Cape Cod, experiencing Martha’s Vineyard and the beautiful cottages, visit a Cranberry farm to learn how they are harvested, learn how to haul in lobster traps and so much more!
Day 1: Today we travel through Pennsylvania and enjoy the beautiful fall colors, with an overnight in Wilkes-Barre at the Hampton inn. Lunch and dinner are on your own.
Day 2: Enjoy the great Fall scenery while traveling eastward through New England to our destination of Hyannis, MA, our home for the next 4 nights at the Hyannis Harbor Hotel; dinner is on your own at surrounding restaurants near the hotel.
Day 3: Our day begins with a tour of Flax Pond Farms (cranberry bogs), learning the stages of the cranberry growing process and seeing an existing bog currently in production. We cross the Cape Cod Canal to tour America’s hometown and one of the country’s first settlements – Plymouth. Lunch is on your own with some shopping time on this great waterfront area. We will make a stop at Plymouth Rock before boarding for our “Lobster Tales Cruise” to learn about the many creatures that live in Plymouth Harbor. Experience a “hands on” approach to see how lobsters are harvested from their natural environment. Visit the oldest city on the Cape, Sandwich, Massachusetts. A stop at the Cape Cod Canal Visitors’ Center this afternoon to explore the rich history and vigilant operations of the Cape Cod Canal. We will view the Village Green, the Great Salt Marsh, and Cape Cod Bay before returning to our hotel. Dinner on your own at surrounding restaurants near the hotel.
Day 4: Tour Hyannis including the John F Kennedy Memorial, Korean War Memorial, Hyannisport and view of the St. Francis Xavier Church, summer parish of the Kennedy Family. A trip to Woods Hole and the center of discovery of the HMS Titanic, where we will board the ferry to the island of Martha’s Vineyard. Our local guide will give us a “Down Island” tour of the island, learning about the lifestyles of the islanders as we pass through the picturesque villages. Enjoy free time for lunch in the historic whaling town of Edgartown. Complete your day on the island with a stroll through “Cottage City” with its brightly painted cottages and decorative “gingerbread” trim. Dinner included this evening at Wimpy’s Seafood Café.
Day 5: A short drive on the Old King’s Highway, visiting the Eastham Windmill, Cape Cod Lighthouse and the Cape Cod National Seashore Visitors Center, on our way to “Land’s End”, Provincetown, the extreme tip of Cape Cod. Free time to enjoy the wonderful variety of shops and have lunch on your own. You may also choose from an afternoon Dune Tour through the protected lands of the Cape Cod National Seashore or a 3-hour whale watching tour. Dinner is on your own near the hotel. 
Day 6: Visit the Cape Cod potato chip factory and load up on your favorite for the ride home. Relax and enjoy as we travel to Wilkes-Barre, PA to overnight for the night. Lunch and dinner are on your own. 
Day 7: Depart for home with great memories of Cape Cod and the New England area. Lunch and dinner are on your own.

MOUNTAINS, MUSIC AND RAILS OF ELKINS, WEST VIRGINIA
OCTOBER 25 - 27   $695 pp double / $840 single occupancy
Enjoy the scenery & nostalgia of “riding the rails” on the steam-powered Cass Scenic Railroad up to Bald Knob with a box lunch, the Tygart Flyer over the Cheat river and a tour of the National Radio Astronomy Observatory are highlights of this tour.  
Day 1: After a beautiful drive thru the West Virginia Mountains, we arrive at Elkins, our home for the next two nights. This evening we enjoy dinner and entertainment at the Railyard Restaurant.
Day 2:  A scenic drive takes us to Cass, W.V. for a short movie showcasing the Cass RR and a question-and-answer session. You will have time to visit the Company Store and other Depot attractions before boarding the train that will take us to the top of Bald Knob Mountain. On our way up on this old logging railroad we’ll go through switch backs as our steam locomotive chugs up the steep mountain grade, a box lunch is included. Dinner and a show tonight are included at the Gandy Dancer Dinner Theater.  
Day 3:  This morning we will visit the West Virginia Railroad Museum before boarding the Tygart Flyer, a vintage diesel-powered passenger train and view the beautiful scenery as we travel through the WV area. Enjoy an included lunch on the train before we depart for home.
